Dr. Kaizhu Huang is currently Head of Department of Electrical and Electroniccal Engineering in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and an Affiliated Full Professor at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Dr. Huang is the recipient of 2011 Asian Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA) Younger Researcher Award. He also received Best Book Award in National “Three 100” Competition 2009. He has published 6 books in Springer and over 110 international research papers (40+ SCI-indexed international journals and 50+ EI conference papers) e.g., in journals (JMLR, Neural Computation, IEEE T-PAMI, IEEE T-NNLS, IEEE T-BME, IEEE T-SMC, NN) and conferences (NIPS, IJCAI, SIGIR, UAI,CIKM, ICDM, ICML,ECML, CVPR). He serves as Associate Editor or Senior Associate Editor in three international journals: BMC Big Data Analytics, Cognitive Computation (JCR Tier1 Journal) , Neurocomputing (JCR Tier2 Journal). He also serves as Advisory Board Member in many Springer Book Series.

Professor Nong Ye received her Ph.D. degree (1991) in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and her M.S. degree (1988) and B.S. degree (1985) in Computer Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Peking University, both in P. R. China. Dr. Ye’s past and current research activities have received over $8M external funding support and have produced eighty-five journal papers and five books.Her recent research involves developing data mining algorithms to discover multivariate data associations for capturing both partial-value and full-value variable associations as well as both individual and interactive effects of multiple variables. New algorithms have been applied to developing anomaly detection technologies and standards for cyber security and in finance, discovering common and uncommon characteristics of engineering students for engineering retention and success, and modeling energy systems to enable smart technologies for efficient energy production and use.

Prof. Huiru (Jane) Zheng is a Professor of Computer Science with School of Computing and Mathematics, a full member of Computer Science Research Institute and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She was awarded a PhD in Bioinformatics in 2003 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education in 2005 from Ulster University.Prof. Zheng is an active researcher in bioinformatics and healthcare informatics. Prof. Zheng is an IEEE member. She serves on the editorial board of several international journals and serves as co-chairs and program committees of a number of international conferences.

Dr. Alex Kuo holds a PhD from the Department of Computer Science, University of Nottingham, UK. He is a full time associate professor at the School of Health Information Science, University of Victoria, BC, Canada. He was a visiting scholar at the Electronic Commerce Resource Centre (ECRC), Georgia Tech. (1999-2000), and the Center for Expanded Data Annotation and Retrieval (CEDAR), School of Medicine, Stanford University (2015-2016). Now, he is the chair of the IEEE Big Data Education Track and the study group leader of Metadata Standard for Big Data Management at the IEEE Big Data Initiative (BDI).With over 20 years of programming and data analysis practical as well as research experience, he has over 140 peer-reviewed publications.

Simon Fong graduated from La Trobe University, Australia, with a 1st Class Honours BEng. Computer Systems degree and a PhD. Computer Science degree in 1993 and 1998 respectively. Simon is now working as an Associate Professor at the Computer and Information Science Department of the University of Macau. He is also one of the founding members of the Data Analytics and Collaborative Computing Research Group in the Faculty of Science and Technology. Prior to his academic career, Simon took up various managerial and technical posts, such as systems engineer, IT consultant and e-bommerce director in Australia and Asia. Dr. Fong has published over 300 international conference and peer-reviewed journal papers, mostly in the areas of data mining and optimization algorithms.

Yedidi is one of the few cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) joint entrance test conducted by Counsel of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC) for admission into Ph.D. and eligibility for Lectureship across India. Yedidi Narasimha Murty obtained Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Andhra University, India in 1998 with Computational Fluid Dynamics as specialization. Yedidi continued his research work at Andhra University with CSIR fellowship till March-2000. Yedidi worked as Research Associate with CSIR fellowship at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Since December-2005, Yedidi is Architecting Data warehousing solutions for clients like – Optus-Australia, Ford, Travelers,BestBuy, GE Commercial Finance, PayPal, Bank of the West. Yedidi is currently working with Electronic Arts as BI Solutions Architect. During this tenure, he designed and modeled several solutions on Risk, Payment Transaction processing that is useful for the data driven business enablement.

Dr. Joshua New is a computer scientist joining Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in 2009. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Tennessee in 2009, his M.S. in Computer Systems and Software Design and his B.S. with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics with a Physics minor from Jacksonville State University. Dr. New is a member of the Building Envelope & Urban Systems Research group and ORNL’s Urban Dynamics Institute. Dr. New currently serves at ORNL’s Building Technology Research Integration Center (BTRIC) as subprogram manager for software tools and models. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has led more than 45 competitively-awarded projects in the past 5 years involving websites, web services, databases, simulation development, visual analytics, supercomputing using the world’s #1 fastest supercomputer and artificial intelligence for big data mining. He is an active member of IEEE and ASHRAE.
